Comparing delayed versus on-arrival administration of a modified live viral vaccine in feedlot cattle

چکیده
PICO question
In auction market calves at high risk of developing bovine respiratory disease (BRD), does delayed (14–30 days) vaccination with a modified live vaccine (MLV) for viral pathogens versus administration MLV on-arrival (within 24 hours arrival) to the feedlot, result in decreased percentage BRD morbidity diagnosed based on visual signs and rectal temperature >40 degrees Celsius?

 How apply evidence practice
application into practice should take account multiple factors, not limited to: individual clinical expertise, patient’s circumstances owners’ values, country, location or clinic where you work, case front you, availability therapies resources.

Comparing Cost versus Benefits of Corn Processing for Feedlot Cattle
Corn processing techniques differ in their effects on feedlot performance and carcass characteristics of finishing cattle. Capacity of a feedlot (critical mass) can dictate which processing method is most feasible economically due primarily to fixed costs for equipment. The local and regional corn pricing basis and availability of other ration ingredients also can influence which corn processin...

Stress commonly associated with weaning, marketing, and shipment of feeder cattle can temporarily compromise immune function, thereby reducing the effective response to vaccination intended to control bovine respiratory disease (BRD). Two vaccination timing treatments were used to evaluate the effect of timing of a multivalent modified live virus (MLV) BRD vaccine on health, performance, and in...
